A LIFETIME Petite Paris Guide

Welcome to my personal map of the 100 Paris places I love best & return to!

GRAB IT ONCE, Keep it for LIFE!

I refine my list after every Paris trip!

This Map guide will NEVER lead you to the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame or the Louvre. Not because these sights shouldn’t be visited but because you are not here for the obvious touristic tips you can easily find yourself by googling Paris major monuments, are you?! …

You are here, hopefully, out of simple curiosity to see my own personal sometimes unusual favourite spots in the city that I love to return to in a list that isn’t promising to be anything more than my hearts absolute favourite Paris pockets; as someone who has visited Paris every year since since 2009 for months at a time!

And because in a world where the term ‘off the beaten track’ is a trendy overused phrase to sell lists of mostly the same ‘hidden/secret insider places’, there is no ‘real’ secret anyway else they wouldn’t be shared at all!

So this Map and List isn’t claiming to be anything but mine! So yes it may include places that are typical, and places not typical, places that might be found in other ‘secret lists’, and places that are completely unheard of and that will probably NEVER be recommended by anyone EVER again haha. So not a BEST or ULTIMATE Paris guide, just MY guide - as a seeker of travel transformation experiences and truth, authentic connections, cultural immersion experiences, and yes beautiful poetic architectural and aesthetic places that inspire me and that awaken my senses and wonderment!

GRAB IT ONCE, Keep it for LIFE!

I refine my list every year after my Paris trips!

WHAT YOU WILL & WONT FIND INSIDE: A bit about me before you Buy!

  • I am a massive cafe lover, plenty of my fave cafes. This is more about aesthetic and interior style and authentic everyday cafe non-touristy vibes as apposed to ‘good coffee’ . While I have a couple of my ‘quality’ faves in this list (I am an Australian coffee snob after-all), Paris to me is not known for coffee and I don’t go there looking for it, so its atmosphere and inspiration. The least touristic too.

  • I have an even bigger love for Tabacs - weird perhaps but I have my faves that are like stepping into the workers Paris, the real Parisians everyday life, not the touristic ‘beautiful for Instagram’ place…but the places where you can observe the routines and nuances of the locals. This is the Paris experience I love.

  • I love wine bars and cocktail bars. Rooftop and underground.

  • I love secret gardens and hidden passages, you will find these inside.

  • I love architecture and beautiful buildings, romantic picturesque corners, so you find beautiful discovered nooks.

  • I love small museums especially artists residences.

  • I am not a night life person so you wont find clubs, but I do love live Jazz.

  • I am not a shopper, except for Flea Market shopping. You WILL find markets but no new, trending or even local designer or specialty boutique shops or product pushes. I am not here to promote consumerism and products, I am here to promote history culture and connection and my love of antique markets is more about the joy of discovering treasure with a story/history. Finding a diamond in the rough and the interaction with the vendors is the only authentic and honest shopping experience in Paris, in my Paris opinion.

  • Perhaps controversial but very few patisseries or boulangeries because I don’t believe in needing to cross town to get your delicious pastry and bread fixes. If you do you must be following a tiktok trend and honestly unless you live near it you don’t need to chase any pastry shop not even if ‘they’ say its the best award winner of the year… Quality amazing pastry and breads are found on every corner of every neighbourhood. So please don’t chase pastries, trust me, you don’t need to, they will chase you!

  • I don’t have kids so no children friendly places (BUT I do know many kids spots for bespoke family itineraries).

  • While I am not a foodie and there are no latest trending or Michelin star restaurants , I still love classic establishments (brasseries and bistrots and have my absolute faves).
