Welcome to Apartment Alvene in Paris, a colourful and happy 2-bedroom private self-contained apartment in the absolute central heart of Paris.

The 2eme is known as the foodies paradise with the feature being Rue Montorgueil - the long cobblestoned pedestrian only strip of fresh food, markets, cafes and boutique gourmet shops. In fact this apartment is right off the bustling street on a quaint side street.

It is such a sought after location and one of my absolute favourites for living and visiting Paris.

You are walking distance by mere minutes to the major attractions of the right bank of Paris - Jardin Tuileries, the Louvre, Palais Royal, Opera Garnier, Place Concorde, Rue Saint Honore with its line up of luxury boutiques, Rue Rivoli and the Seine River.

However you are also near the more recently trendy areas too around Sentier where some of the trendiest new coffee shops and bars have started to pop up so its a perfect mix of old and new world Paris.

This means that at your doorstep you are inevitable spoilt with bars, brasseries, patisseries, cafes, bistrots, parks, secret gardens and passages, shops, museums, markets - absolutely everything you dream of experiencing in the city.

Alvene’s apartment is beautifully cared for and presented to you with a mix of modern and antique style.

Alvene has picked up the furniture and odd pieces from the antique shops and off the streets of Paris to give this apartment the perfect holiday feel of new, with a touch of old world traditional Paris. He is quite the Antique lover and knows all the best vintage flea markets for you to visit in the city.

Located on the 4th floor of a traditional haussmann building (no lift though Alvene will always greet his guests at arrival and assist with bags) it is extremely spacious by Parisian standards with many windows, light and flowing energy.

Within your home, there are 2 bedrooms, both are large though one is larger than the other and each with plenty of wardrobe space, hangers, iron and iron board. One of the bedrooms has a Queen bed and the other has 2 single beds - perfect for families. The lounge room has an additional sofa/day bed for a 5th guest. Both rooms have windows with soundproof glass overlooking the peaceful street below. The beds in this home are top quality for comfort – Linens are the best fresh sweet smelling, and the bed is soft-firm, the perfect balance.

The hallway entry into the home offers an entry cabinet to store your shoes, jackets, bags and umbrellas. The hallway leads to the kitchen and dining lounge.

The kitchen is fully equipped with absolutely all you need to live independently in Paris. Nespresso machine, kettle, microwave, dishwasher, cooktop and over, a laundry washing machine, and lots of essentials will be left for you by Alvene – water, tea, coffee pods, sugar etc. and welcome chocolates.

The bathroom is modern and has a sink, with plenty of empty drawers to store your toiletries, an amazing shower with excellent hot water and pressure and toilet. Heating rack also for towels.

Provided to you also are all your linens, bedding and towels. Essential toiletries such as soap and bath gel are provided (please note no shampoo or conditioner is provided) there is a hairdryer (great quality I used it every day on my wavy thick hair). There are bathrobes available for the main guest bedroom.

The kitchen has dishwashing liquid and spongers and tea towels provided.

About your host Alvene:

Alvene is of Malaysian heritage and from Brisbane Australia. 15 years ago he came to Paris and fell in love and basically never left.

He is a pastry chef in Paris (he knows all the best pastry and coffee places both in the area of the apartment and within all of Paris).

He purchased this apartment as his primary residence but also lives between this home and his partners other Paris home.

When Alvene is not in this apartment he offers it to fellow Aussie or international guests.

Alvene is a wonderful host, who aligns with Petite Paris ethos of making connections with guests.

For Alvene (and Petite Paris) it is not just about offering travellers an empty apartment, Alvene is also is a friend, who will welcome you upon arrival, show you all the bits-and-bobs of the home, spend time with you sharing his city tips, as well as helping you to plan you Paris days from the apartment.

He loves to connect with guests in a deeper way, getting to know them and promising them the utmost quality hospitality and care.

Alvene offers bike riding tours around Paris too, another way for him to get to know his guests and vice-versa for guests to get to know Alvene, as well as the city, and hopefully make this their ‘forever’ home in Paris.

Alvene’s Midnight in Paris Bike & Boat Tour

Beginning and ending at the apartment, explore the magic of Paris by night with Alvene as your guide on this 2.5-hour mainly bike ride (with a beautiful sail by boat in the middle) to beautiful locations around the city.
