Welcome to B&B Alvene
A traditional guesthose B&B (or private apartment option) in the 11eme
Welcome to Alvins home in Paris, where you can pick whether you wish to book it as a self contained private apartment OR for solo women travellers, as a budget friendly option, it is offered as a classic bed and breakfast home where you will be sharing the authentic family home with Alvin the most wonderful discreet hospitable and soulful host you will ever meet in Paris - who will serve you breakfast daily and help you plan your perfect Paris days. Even if you book it as a B&B you will still full access to use the entire apartment as your own - kitchen for cooking meals etc. And Alvin may often need to be away dome days and nights and therefore you will still get to enjoy privacy and the home to yourself.
The 11th arrondissement is an area often overlooked by travellers who believe they need to be in the most central areas, this is not the case. The 11th arrondissement has become THE location for experiencing an authentic artistic Paris neighbourhood while being only 10mins walk to the trendy Marais, 10 min walk to Bastille and 20 min walk to the seine river.
Here you will live away from the central chaos of Paris, yet within walking distance of all of that action, PLUS it has its own local beautiful spots to enjoy and explore such as the tranquil and leafy Canal St Martin and its boutiques, bars and cafes, the most beautiful Boulangerie is nearby as is two of the best coffee spots in the city within 10 min walk.

About the 11eme
The 11th arrondissement is a hip, diverse district with lively bars around Rue Oberkampf and its surrounding streets. It's also home to the Opéra Bastille, the city's main opera house. Foodies and fashionistas flock to the boutiques and vogue restaurants around Rue de Charonne, part of the evolving shopping and dining scene in the cosmopolitan area between the République and Nation squares. It is a short walk to St Martin Canal and the Marais.

Alvene’s apartment is beautifully cared for and presented to you with a mix of modern and antique style.
Alvene has picked up the bureau, work tables and other odd pieces from the antique shops and off the streets of Paris to give this apartment the perfect holiday feel of new, with a touch of old Paris. He is a bit of an Antique Guru -stay tuned for our Antique market shopping trips in Paris soon!
Located on the 4th floor of a traditional haussmann building (no lift though Alvene will always greet his guests at arrival and assist with bags) it is extremely spacious by Parisian standards with many windows, light and flowing energy.
It is on a tranquil street with few cars passing and 2 local bars at the end of the street.
In 4 mins walk you will be at Goncourt metro station and all of Paris is them at your feet with most main attractions taking only 15-20mins by metro.
Within your home, there are 2 bedrooms, both are large though one is larger than the other and each with plenty of wardrobe space, hangers, iron and iron board. You will be offered the larger of the two bedrooms that comes with a workspace and lounge chair and soundproof glass overlooking the peaceful street below.
The bed in this home have been personally tested by myself, Regina, and I voucher for its top quality and absolute comfort – I slept like a log and I am a light uneasy sleeper.
Linens are the best fresh sweet smelling, and the bed is soft-firm, the perfect balance.
The hallway entry into the home offers an entry cabinet to store your shoes, jackets, bags and umbrellas. The hallway leads to the combined kitchen, dinning lounge and the kitchen is fully equipped with absolutely all you need to live independently in Paris.
Nespresso machine, kettle, microwave, cooktop and over, a laundry washing machine, and lots of essentials will be left for you by Aleven – water, tea, coffee pods, sugar etc. and welcome chocolates. Though Alvene will serve you fresh traditional French breakfast daily while you are staying in this home - included in the rate.
The bathroom is large and wonderful, with a sink, with plenty of empty drawers to store your toiletries, an amazing shower with excellent hot water and pressure and toilet. Heating rack also for towels. Alvene is extremely discreet as wqell as BUSY so he will be away often and even when he is at home he will remain discreet to give you space and will always try to use the bathroom only when you are out sightseeing.
Provided to you also are all your linens, bedding and towels. Essential toiletries such as soap and bath gel are provided (please note no shampoo or conditioner is provided) there is a hairdryer (great quality I used it every day on my wavy thick hair). There are bathrobes available for the main guest bedroom.
The kitchen has dishwashing liquid and spongers and tea towels provided.
About your host Alvin:
Alvin is of Malaysian heritage and from Brisbane Australia. 15 years ago he came to Paris and fell in love and basically never left.
He is a pastry chef in Paris (he knows all the best pastry and coffee places both in the area of the apartment and within all of Paris).
He purchased this apartment as his primary residence but also lives between this home and his other Paris home. When Alvin is not in this apartment he offers it to fellow Aussie or international guests.
Alvin is a wonderful host, who aligns with Petite Paris ethos of making connections with guests. For Alvin (and Petite Paris) it is not just about offering travellers an empty apartment, Alvin is also is a friend, who will welcome you upon arrival, show you all the bits-and-bobs of the home, spend time with you sharing his city tips, as well as helping you to plan you Paris days from the apartment.
He loves to connect with guests in a deeper way, getting to know them and promising them the utmost quality hospitality and care.
Alvin offers bike riding tours around Paris too, another way for him to get to know his guests and vice-versa for guests to get to know Alvin, as well as the city, and hopefully make this their ‘forever’ home in Paris.

Choose your own Paris adventure with this new itinerary exploring a NEW neighbourhood of Paris, off the beaten track, the 11th arrondissement of Paris is an authentic Parisian neighbourhood. Starting at 8am from the top of the village, each sight has been geographically ordered to wind through logically to the bottom of the neighbourhood (to Bastille and the seine!) You can go as slow and chill or as jam-packed as you want. OR you can edit your own version, ultimately you have total control of your day!
The diverse vibrant 11th arrondissement of Paris is the new up and coming place to be and my new fave village for a bohemian authentic parisian residential experience. Its also where Apartment Alvene lives!
The area is known for its bohemian vibe, trendy nightlife, artisan & atelier secret passages where furniture makers, frame makers and other designers and handymen can be found crafting their trade down hidden laneways that feel like the French countryside. You will discover a secret hilltop tiny vineyard not even Montmartre knows about with sweeping city views, the most convival festive bar found within a park, a street famous for its dedication to artisan craft rather than consumerism that the City Hall rightly named the original 'Made in France', wonderful zinc brasseries, the BEST coffee spot, an amazing boulangerie-patisserie of course, a multicultural gourmet food market, and much much MUCH more!
Purchase this itinerary as it is for the full version with ALL the amazing sights of the areas. But if you wish to edit the itinerary to suit you, ie cutting out any places you want to skip (or adding other/new places) or include your accommodation as the start and end point to navigate to the destinations easily, please select the ‘Edit this Itinerary’ option at checkout.

Bonjour my solo Paris dreamer, This is my pre-made Solo in Paris Itinerary, for YOU! Its full of solo friendly things to do and see in the city, that I will lovingly PERSONALISE TO SUIT YOU!
After you check out, I will be in contact with you to to add your specific dates in Paris, adding any dates specific events that are of interest to you. Adding your accommodation address to the live version so you can navigate to and from your Paris home. AS WELL AS adding your own other must see sights which will be added according to location convenience to fit in with the other existing sights and experiences in the itinerary (rather than recreating an itinerary from scratch). So think of this as your base Paris plan (and a more budget friendly option than order one of my bespoke Itineraries from scratch). But since there cannot be a TRUE Solo in Paris ‘One size fits all’ itinerary (because we are all unique), I am here to edit this pre-set plan for you in the most practical way possible. To make it yours! And I CANNOT WAIT!
Paris is THE city to romance yourself alone and to fall in love with yourself, and the city all at once. There is no city in the world that celebrates MORE than Paris, the joy of solitude and sitting and enjoying life alone, reading or journalling in a cafe in Paris is one of the most iconic scenes we all know and admire - we all want to feel free to be alone, independent and capable. And in Paris everyone is alone, even when they are together. Even if Parisians have a partner friends or family they ALL take the time to spend time alone in their city, going to see a museum alone, drinking wine alone on the seine river banks, its the image of Paris life. And thats because Paris is SO personal. This city is a personal experience and it HAS to be experienced SOLO at least once in your life.
But like everything in life you cant enjoy alone-ness as much without some togetherness. As beautiful and personally satisfying as solo is, (not to mention the personal growth and strengthening you feel when travelling solo) so is connection. And where do you go for a better chance of meeting people while navigating the city on a romantic solo escapade? To all these specially selected locations, venues, workshops and events listed in this Solo in Paris itinerary that I have created. Interactive activities for opportunities to meet other travellers. Thats all part of the joy and thrill. of Solo travel too!
With over 30 locations, activities and experiences to enjoy over 4 days this itinerary includes some of Paris’ more solo friendly communal, convival, welcoming cafes, bars, brasseries, and some wonderful classes where you could meet others, such as Macaron making class, bouquet class, Art Class, yoga Class, wine tastings and Bookshop events and readings and more. It’s a more interactive Paris experience than just strolling the seine or a museum alone!!
All locations and classes in this itinerary are been mapped out geographically in the easiest possible routes. Anything additional you wish to add will be added according to location too - to make it easy to reach from thios already pre-planned Itinerary! Your accommodation will also be added to the itinerary map for easy navigation to and from ‘home’.
