Women of Paris - 3 Day Itinerary

$85.00

This very special 'International Womens Day' release Itinerary was created by Petite Paris, for Serge Lutens in Paris. Petite Paris was honourably commissioned by the French Perfume master Serge Lutens, for the launch of the new Lutens Parfum 'La Fille Tour de Fer' - which means: ‘The Iron Tower Gir’. The Iron Tower Girl, like her perfume, rose absolute with the accent of the streets of Paris; is seductive, determined...rare!

Arriving in Paris in his 20s Serge Lutens wanted to cause a revolution,  to unbone the corsets, give voice back to the women and rebuild the city his own way. The city lay at his feet and he was alive with vigour assured of his convictions and knew the girl he wanted to embody. A timeless girl unbound by the past, present or future. Freedom was his fantasy, he coloured the city purple  and Paris was his obsession!

This itinerary includes a range of women inspired locations to visit and feel empowered and inspired by them as well as some simply beautifully romantic places to dine, see and enjoy. It tells a story of Paris dominated not by great men but by inspirational women, who persevered within a bastion of patriarchy to make their mark on Paris, and the world.

It includes:

  • A visit to a divine Patisserie owned by a French Female leading a fresh perspective on the historically male dominated craft, with a signature fragrant fruity flan to die for.

  • A blissful poetic late afternoon spent in a bloom-filled flower workshop creating your own bouquet where monthly themes are inspired by magnificent women of French history.

  • An evening at a classic concert hall where Frehel gave powerful performances there in 1924, to lose yourself in renditions of iconic French song.

  • A visit of significance to the last home of Edith Pilaf and see the secret door/passage that led from the building leading to the garden next door where Piaf would often use to escape.

  • An afternoon aperitif moment at a seine-side iconic café, as seen in Emily in Paris.

  • Enjoying a lively and the oldest cabaret in Paris, where Pilaf performed regularly, for a night of singing and gypsy jazz.

  • An iconic walk along the setting of 1938's ‘Hotel du Nord’ @ Canal St-Martin footbridge, where Arletty delivers some of the most memorable spoken lines in French cinema. You can almost hear remnants of Frehel singing ‘Si Tu N’etais Pas la’ - the soundtrack to ‘Amelie’.

  • A trip to an international cuisine fresh food market, the world is at your feet and tastebuds!

  • A boisterous outdoor garden setting at a bar named after 19thC French painter Rosa Bonheur, famous for her role in the early feminist movement.

  • Rubbing shoulders with the ghosts of artists past at a cult literary cafe – the likes of Breton, Picasso, Wilde. The Age of Enlightenment and radical ideas were born here.

  • And more…
