Welcome to an original Petite Paris B&B, from 2009 - 2017 I proudly offered this very simple and sweet old-world family home and traditional Chambre d’hote run by the delightful and darling Marie-Francoise (who worked as a Diplomat for many many years in Africa). And Im so honoured and happy to be offering this home again with her in the mythical literary Latin Quarter (Hemingways Paris, and also Emily in Paris’ Paris).
Marie Francoise is your intimate personable chatty host who loves to share her home and her knowledge of the city with you; and she offers a delightful guest suite that has its own private ensuite bathroom.
I can confirm that B&B Marie Francoise is an absolute sleep therapy dream. I slept so hard and peacefully in a home that felt like 'coming home to mum and dads' - with that certain secure feeling you honestly only get when you’re in your safe family home. I slept like Marie-Francoise’ baby hehe! Its tranquility at its finest too, as you literally could not hear a pin drop in this room facing an inner courtyard garden. It was hard to believe I was in Paris!!
I also adore the incredible location that is a real secret find, away from the touristy typical areas, but with ALL at your door, starting with the Jardin Des Plantes directly across the street (the Botanical Garden of Paris with community garden, greenhouse and home to the Museum of Natural history). The seine river is 2mins down the road and the boat stop is there where you can loterally jump on and do the 2 hour round trip of the Seine passing the most iconic Paris sights in one hit, you can get off at the Louvre, notre Dame, Museum Dorsay or Eiffel Tower and jump back on using the same ticket.
Minutes walk from you is Rue mouffetard the foodies pedestrian only paradise, Place Contrescarpe the famous square filled with iconic cult favouirte cafes, the Pantheon with Eiffel views, and only a 20min walk to st Germain des Pres and Jardin Luxembourg, Musee Cluny Sorbonne - museum of medieval history one of my all time favourites across the road from the famous Sorbonne Museum! A real gem of a location. Also: the nearest metro station 5mins walk away from the B&B is a direct line to Gare du Nord for anyone coming from other European cities. Phew - Marie Francoise' home is in an incredible area i love rhis mythical little village - love the Latin Quarter!!

Guests are offered their own private guest room with private ensuite in this very warm family home. Not like a hotel or private apartment, this is Marie-Francoise’ family home for many many years full of her personal cherished items and family heirlooms and photos, antique furniture and yes all her nic-nacs and day-to-day clutter can be expected (Marie Francoise is often knitting and has her crafts spread out in the lounge roo, - she is an angel and knits beanies for orphans in sth Africa where she usesd to work as a Diplomat) Be at home here! And immediately upon definitely entering you feel you are in someone’s home - and that the special mood and experience you will recieve. A homey stay.
The guest suite has a lock if guests want to use it, otherwise Marie-Francoise will not enter your room while you are there, only while you are sightseeing to make up your bed and clean the bathroom which she does twice a day for you.
Guests are provided with fresh towels and toiletries, hairdryer, a massager, a robe, slippers. There is a tea and biscuit station in the room with a little table for you to prepare your warm drinks before and after bed without needing to leave the room.
The wardrobe is left entirely empty for you to store your clothes (with hangers) and luggage. Extra blankets are left for you in the wardrobe also.
The bed is a double size 160cm x 200cm and it is high quality, a luxury bed for the best nights sleep with pristine clean sheets and blankets. There are also 2 chairs in the room, a bedside table with alarm clock and lamps.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the entire apartment that belongs to Marie-Francoise, the home is a shared space, and Marie-Francoise welcomes you to enjoy the lounge, dining room and balcony anytime. Marie-Francoise is a darling sweet hostess, who will alway go above and beyond to ensure you are happy and comfortable in her home. She loves to chat and share all her knowledge of the city and her personal life -ideal for anyone who wants to share some true personal time with their host, getting to know a local and practice their French. However she speaks excellent English, having worked as a Diplomat for many years. If you wish to store some foods and drinks in the kitchen you are able to do so as well, otherwise the kitchen is private for Marie-Francoise only.
Please note: Monique has a gorgeous timid rescue cate name couminette, but she is extremely timid and does not shed hair and will not enter your guest suite.

Included in the rates: wifi, heating, towels and linens, all toiletries. NO breakfast is served at Marie-Francoise B&B.
NOTE: There is NO air-con in any traditional Paris home or apartment. This is not a hotel, this is the home of an everyday Parisian and Parisians are not inclined to purchase air-cons for their homes (often seen as an extravagant unnecessary expense due to Paris having such mild weather year round. If you require air-con for any medical or personal needs please do not book this B&B.
