This 2 level family home is an absolute historic dream Parisian maison tucked down the end of an impasse (cobblestoned passage with other residential apartments making up a quaint typically Parisian courtyard) surrounded by an incredible garden - a real rarity in Paris, that is open for guests to enjoy anytime to read a book, enjoy morning coffee, bring back a bottle of wine and sip in serenity!
I truly don’t know where to begin to describe this incredibly rare and coziest of family homes, but when I first inspected it, I think I shed a tear of joy and felt the old pang of 'omg I found a gem! I truly love discovering unique homes in Paris and this one nails all the elements I search for. Style, authenticity, a certain quaintness, an artistic vibe, privacy yet with the wonderful immersive experience of living in a home with a local host to guide you, with breakfast service! Complete with a petit Paris chat, little Mena who you will find prancing around the garden or home, or dozing in your lap.
This dream house with garden is ideal for relaxation and rest after a day spent discovering Paris or for professional looking for a peaceful end-of-day escape.

In this green corner in the heart of Paris Richard and Victor will be very happy to welcome you in the guest rooms of their family home, and to welcome you in either their master suite (4 people) or their suite for couples with garden view. Offering you a country breakfast in the garden or more comfortably in your suite. Having a long experience of seasonal stays in guest rooms, Richard and Victor will be able to give you all the information required to make your stay in the heart of Paris even more pleasant. Richard and Victor have been hosting guests for over 10 years and take great pleasure in welcoming visitors to their traditional Parisian gîte. We are considered bilingual. We therefore do everything possible to receive them in the greatest comfort and respond to their requests.
B&B Richard offers two incredible entire self contained apartments that encompass the entire upstairs of this 2 story dwelling. Richard lives downstairs with his partner Victor and their 3 children. Downstairs is the family home and communal space of the B&B home where guests can come and sit in the living room and have a chat with their hosts or relax in the garden. However the guest studios have their own lounge rooms too as well as own kitchenettes, and ensuite bathrooms. They also have their own private entry stairwell direct from the garden leading the second floor landing - so privacy is assured for those who prefer it, to come and go as they please without having to pass their hosts quarter. Simply walk up the stone steps from garden.
Apartment One is a 1 bedroom dwelling with queen bed for up to 2 guests, and apartment 2 accommodates up to 4 guests with a Queen bed bedroom and a mezzanine loft with twin beds. See below for full details and photos of each individual room for you to select from.
Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Featuring garden views, the guest rooms come with a seating area, a washing machine, a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, and a private bathroom with a hairdryer and free toiletries. A toaster, kitchenware and a coffee machine are also provided, as well as a kettle.
Breakfast is served to you daily, a lovingly prepared tray is brought to your door each morning and it consists of croissants, bread, butter and jam, fruits, tea, coffee and juice. Feel free to take it out into the garden to enjoy if weather is enjoyable.

Location Details
B&B Richard is located in the residential, and perfectly non-touristy and changing East Paris - the 20eme. This is the upper Belleville, near Jourdain, a district well known for its church, where Edith Piaf was baptized, its cafes, bistros, artists' studios and secret gardens. It is an authentic everyday Parisian village that is on the up and up, being the cusp of the 19eme it’s an area where new trendy restaurants are opening by up-and-coming chefs in the city and trendy cafes but of course mixed in with all the usual classic boulangeries, brasseries, cafes and bars that we all love Paris for. Its also an area known for its cultural diversity so you will find cuisine from all around the world to satisfy your tastebuds (Yummy Pho place across the road, is a good warm welcome to arrive at your Paris B&B goes down so well).
The B&B is also a perfect 10min stroll to the exquisite Butte Chaumont Parc that is a hilly oasis with sweeping views across the city and many paths to walk or run each day (boulangerie across the road for coffee and croissants as well as a beer garden in the parc the famous Rosa Bonheur); nearby is the street rue de la Vilette - a Parisian thoroughfare that is being gentrified, and the change is towards craftsmanship rather than commercialism. Its a super narrow cobble street for pedestrians only, here you find so many wonderful artisians, devoted to craft rather than consumerism the business owners here are determined to keep the street and atmosphere that way. Paris city hall even named this street as the original and quintessential Fabrique a Paris meaning 'Made in Paris'. Good local artisian shopping here - the best part of this street is towards the end near Rue de Belleville.
You are also a 15min walk to the must-see Pere Lachaise Cimitiere and it takes only 20mins to reach the centre of Paris via metro and there are 2 metro stations within 5-7mins walk of the home. I love that here you get to experience a quieter Paris away from the touristic and commercial chaos but this is still Paris proper and the centre hotspots and main monuments of Paris is just a quick metro ride away. It's absolute where you would want to LIVE in Paris!!
