Musée Cognacq-Jay

The Musée Cognacq-Jay his housed inside a beautiful former 16th century mansion complete with courtyard and garden, the museum contains an exceptional collection of 18th century artworks, including paintings by Boucher, Chardin and Fragonard, drawings by Watteau, sculptures, stamped furniture and other precious items. Upon his death in 1928, Ernest Cognacq bequeathed these artworks to the City of Paris in 1928 in order that his collection, which offers a unique artistic perspective on the Age of Enlightenment, might remain accessible to the public.
