LโEscargot Montorgueil
Even if you do not like the idea of eating snails you HAVE to visit LโEscargot - a 19th Century historic institution (plus visiting Rue Montorgueil is a MUST for any self respecting foodie). There are many variations of snail on the menu (this is THE place in Paris to try the national delicacy) but there are also all the other classic traditional French cuisines too. The prices are on the higher side, as you are paying for the gorgeous atmosphere, the name and history and great refined experienced service. Oh and deliciousness!
It is tranquil and cozy ambience, the street side table enclosed in glass gives a clear view of the Parisian stone paths and there are heating lamps, red and dark brown colours that bring back a sense of french tradition.
Recommended: Traditional Escargot & Escargot in Foie Gras or Le Ris De Veau - Veal meat, with a traditional french sauce.
Address: 38 Rue Montorgueil 75001 Paris
